Intro

Hi. I’m Tyler. I am 32 years old. I started living the itinerant life..or nomad lifestyle in the middle of 2021. This was shortly after the Covid pandemic and right after I broke things off with my ex-boyfriend. We simply couldn’t see eye to eye and his Mother & I were having business disputes.
Despite many efforts, there just didn’t seem to be an immediate solution.

Since being on the road, I’ve met many people, seen a lot of sights, and experienced a lot of things I probably wouldn’t have if I hadn’t made this decision.

And so, I am creating this blog to help others who may be thinking of transitioning or are currently living in their car. My journey has been unique and, will probably not be the same as yours. I will share my experiences, answer any questions, and provide any solutions to problems you might be experiencing.

My personal website is tylermichael.org

Living in an RV and Living in Your Car: Two Different Lifestyles

“How am I going to fit everything while keeping enough room to stretch & sleep?” I remember thinking to myself. . .

My thoughts one of my first nights sleeping in my truck -2021

Living in an RV and living in your car are two very different lifestyles. While both may involve living on the road, they come with their own set of benefits and challenges. In this blog post, we’ll explore both lifestyles and what you need to know if you’re considering them.

Living in an RV

Living in an RV gives you the freedom to travel wherever you want and do it in comfort. You have a home on wheels, complete with a bed, kitchen, bathroom, and living space. RV living can be a great option for retirees looking to travel or for those who work remotely and want to have the flexibility of working from anywhere.

Benefits of living in an RV:

1. Freedom to travel: An RV allows you to travel anywhere you want, whenever you want. This means you can explore new places and create new memories in the comfort of your own home.

2. Comfortable living space: An RV is essentially a small apartment on wheels. It is fully equipped with amenities like a bed, kitchen, bathroom, and living space, making it a comfortable living space.

3. Lower cost of living: Living in an RV can be much cheaper than living in a traditional home. You can cut down on expenses like rent\/mortgage payments, home maintenance, and utilities.

Challenges of living in an RV:

1. Maintenance: The upkeep of an RV can be expensive and time-consuming.

2. Limited space: Living in an RV means living in a small space, which can be challenging for some people.

3. Parking: Finding a suitable place to park your RV can be difficult, especially in urban areas.

Living in Your Car

Living in your car can be a last resort option for those who cannot afford a traditional home or an RV. This lifestyle involves living on the road and using your vehicle as a means of transportation, shelter, and storage. While it can be challenging, many people find this lifestyle to be incredibly liberating.

Benefits of living in your car:

1. Flexibility: Living in your car allows you to travel and explore new places with flexibility.

2. Low cost of living: Living in your car can be much cheaper than living in a traditional home or apartment.

3. Minimalism: Living in your car forces you to downsize and live with only the essentials, leading to a more minimalist lifestyle.

Challenges of living in your car:

1. Lack of space: Living in your car means you have limited space for living and storage.

2. Lack of privacy: Privacy can be a big challenge when living in your car, as you’ll need to find places to park and sleep.

3. Limited amenities: Unless your car is equipped with a kitchen and bathroom, you may have to rely on public facilities.

In summary, living in an RV and living in your car are two unique lifestyles. While living in an RV is more comfortable and convenient, living in your car can be challenging but liberating. Whatever lifestyle you choose, it’s important to do your research and prepare accordingly.

Auto Loans for Newbies: How to Get the Best Deal

Buying a new car can be a daunting experience, especially when it comes to financing. The good news is, with a little bit of research and preparation, you can land yourself a great auto loan deal. In this blog post, we will take you through some important steps that newbies should follow when considering auto loans.

1. Check Your Credit Score

Before shopping for a car loan, you must check your credit score. Your credit score is the most important factor that lenders consider when deciding if you are eligible for a loan. A higher credit score generally means better interest rates and terms. You can get a free credit report from one of the three major credit bureaus (Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion) once a year. Check your report carefully and make sure there are no errors. If you find any errors, dispute them with the bureau.

2. Determine Your Budget

Once you’ve checked your credit score, you need to determine your budget. What can you realistically afford in monthly payments? How much can you put down as a down payment? Don’t forget to factor in other expenses such as insurance, gas, and maintenance. Use an online auto loan calculator to help you figure out the monthly payments and total cost of the loan.

3. Shop Around for Auto Loans

Don’t just accept the first loan offer you receive. Shop around for the best deal. Look at different lenders such as banks, credit unions, and online lenders. Compare interest rates, loan terms, and fees. Make sure to ask about any prepayment penalties or additional fees.

4. Understand Loan Terms

When you are comparing different loan offers, make sure you understand the terms. How many months will your loan be? What is the interest rate? What will your monthly payment be? What is the down payment requirement? Make sure you understand everything before signing on the dotted line.

5. Get Pre-Approved for a Loan

Getting pre-approved for a loan gives you an idea of how much loan you can afford, which will help you when you are shopping for a car. It also shows the seller that you are a serious buyer. It’s important to note that pre-approval doesn’t guarantee a loan. The lender will still consider the car’s value, your income, and credit score. Once you’ve found the car you want to buy, the lender will complete a final approval and process the loan.

By following these steps, you can sail through your auto loan process with ease. Good luck!

There are many free apps that allow you to do this without affecting your credit score.

Your objective here is to get an idea of your credit score and credit worthiness from an auto dealerships perspective. If you think you’ve got the chance, and even if you don’t, I suggest seeing what you qualify for using Carvana or CarMax.

I prefer CarMax personally. I’ve purchased many vehicles through CarMax. I especially like that when they do decide to run your credit for an auto financing decision – they run it one time for up to 8-10 auto loan lenders, including their own in-house financing option, which can make obtaining a loan a little bit easier.
